Our Q-switched Nd:Yag laser produces a special wavelength of light specifically designed to target pigment within the skin. The light produced by the laser vibrates and shatters the pigment, breaking the melanin into micro-particles and lightening lesions. Prices for this treatment is based upon the treatment area. Restore Your Confidence: Treatment for Melasma

Melasma is a common skin condition, characterized by pigmentation that gives your face a blotchy, brownish appearance. Melasma affects women more often than men, often occurring during a pregnancy. People with brown skin are more likely to develop melasma. As the condition is visible, and difficult or impossible to camouflage with makeup, it can be embarrassing, impacting your confidence. Removing the darkened areas of your skin and restoring an even skin tone can be life-changing!

You may have invested in various creams or even natural remedies to attempt to restore your skin, with little result. If you are ready to be free from the darkened areas of your skin for the long-term, we offer a treatment that will remove the excess pigment for good, and leave your facial skin looking refreshed and evenly toned.

Are you Tired of Living with the Blotchy Skin of Melasma? We Can Help.

Melasma develops on the face for various reason, including:

  • Sun exposure
  • Hormonal changes
  • Skin irritations
  • Pregnancy
  • Inherited through the family line

If you are tired of living with uneven, blotchy facial skin, Dr. Shin Ching offers an effective treatment with an advanced laser device, a Q-switched Nd:Yag. This treatment is ideal for people who have tried creams and other treatments and have not been able to achieve an even skin tone. This advanced device has significant advantages, as it is appropriate for people with darker skin tones.

Several types of laser treatments should be avoided if you inherited brown skin. The Nd:Yag system allows you to remove the dark facial blotches of melasma, without damaging the surrounding skin, or causing further problems with hyperpigmentation.

Time to Rest and Recover: What to Expect?

Our advanced laser device produces a specific type of energy that gently penetrates the skin by being absorbed by the water in the cells. After your treatment, you can expect your skin to appear reddened, and swelling is normal. Your skin requires about 10 days to two weeks to heal in most cases, after which you can start wearing makeup again. For less extensive treatments the recovery time may be shorter. After your treatment, it is imperative that you avoid any sun exposure, always wearing sunscreen and a hat when out of doors.
