Recovery after nipple reduction surgery is relatively quick, with many patients able to return to work immediately after surgery. There may be some bruising and swelling, but this should not last for too long. During your recovery, you will want to avoid strenuous activities including heavy lifting and intense cardio. The area will be sensitive to the touch, and you will want to avoid contact for a few weeks. To ease any discomfort you can take over-the-counter pain medications.
This surgery is a fast procedure that is normally completed in about ten minutes. Scars from this procedure is generally not visible
Due to swelling and bruising in the area, it may take a few weeks for you to see the full results of your procedure. You will have a follow-up appointment to ensure that your post-operative care is going well and that you are healing nicely.
