Your Breast Augmentation Procedure
Dr. Ching performs the scarless breast augmentation as an outpatient procedure. The surgery takes approximately 40 minutes to perform. After making each incision in the creases of the underarms, Dr. Ching creates a small pocket where he inserts the implant. If there is any preexisting asymmetry of the breasts, Dr. Ching may use different implant sizes for the left and right breasts for a more symmetrical result. He also places patients in the seated position during surgery to ensure symmetry between their breasts before the surgery is completed.
Dr. Ching uses an innovative device called the Keller Funnel® when inserting the implants. This enables him to position the implants without touching them, providing an added measure of safety. He closes the incisions with absorbable sutures, reinforced with skin adhesive. This type of dressing allows the patient to shower right away, if desired. Additionally, we do not do postoperative wrapping of the chest or use pressure garments, so patients can return to their daily activities as quickly as possible.

How Do I Prepare for my Scarless Breast Augmentation?
Leading up to a scarless breast augmentation procedure, patients are often asked to:
- Get bloodwork done
- Begin or cease the use of certain medications

What are the different types of breast implants?
Saline breast implants
Saline breast implants are filled with sterile salt water. In the event of a leak, these implants deflate, and the liquid is safely absorbed by the body. These FDA-approved implants provide a uniform shape, firmness, and feel. There are also structured saline implants which are the same but also contain an inner structure which makes them look and feel more natural. Ideal candidates will be at least 20 years of age.
Silicone breast implants
Silicone breast implants contain silicone gel. The gel contained in these implants feels like natural breast tissue. If leakage occurs, the silicone implant will not collapse.
With these implants, patients may need to visit their plastic surgeon on a regular basis to make sure they are working properly. Undergoing an ultrasound or MRI screening can help gain a better understanding of the condition of the breasts. Patients must be at least 22 years old to receive these implants.
Gummy bear breast implants
Gummy bear implants are also known as form-stable implants. Their name comes from the fact that they maintain their form under all circumstances. The gel contained within the implants is thicker than the contents of other implants and they are overall more sturdy than other implants. Gummy bear implants have a particular shape which can cause issues if they are rotated. As such, patients may need to have follow-up appointments to make adjustments.

The differences between breast lift and breast augmentation procedures can be confusing. Both procedures focus on the appearance of the breasts, but they address different concerns. A breast lift elevates breasts that are sagging due to natural aging, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or other factors. It changes the shape and form of your breasts, and raises the breasts’ position. In some cases, a breast lift can be combined with augmentation to simultaneously elevate and increase the size of the breasts.Breast augmentation only adds volume to the breasts. If you have mild breast sagging, implants may provide the appearance of a subtle lift, but moderate to severe sagging cannot be corrected by inserting implants without a breast lift.

Yes.
