Dr. Zachary Long is a board-certified plastic surgeon passionate about enhancing his patients' well-being through expert surgical care. He trained at the esteemed SBH Health System in New York City, gaining comprehensive experience in plastic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Long began his academic journey at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he earned his undergraduate degree, followed by his medical degree at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine.

Drawn by family roots in Hawaii, Dr. Long returned to the islands to establish his permanent practice. 

After years of dedicated service as a plastic surgeon in Massachusetts at Berkshire Health Systems, he now brings his expertise to Asia Pacific Aesthetics. Patients appreciate his warm, approachable demeanor, a blend of southern hospitality and island warmth, and dedication to personalized care.

Dr. Long’s extensive experience includes roles such as primary plastic surgery lead at Berkshire Medical Center and member of the Breast Cancer Leadership Program. He also contributed to initiatives supporting LGBTQIA+ health, showcasing his commitment to inclusive, compassionate care.

Meet Dr. Zachary Long

Professional Experience and Affiliations 

Clinical Experience

Dr. Zachary Long has amassed extensive hands-on experience in plastic and reconstructive surgery through dedicated roles in hospital and academic settings. His work has allowed him to refine his skills across a wide range of surgical procedures, making him a well-rounded and knowledgeable practitioner.

His journey began as a General Surgery Resident from 2014 to 2017 at SBH Health System in New York, where he managed patient care in a high-acuity trauma center. Building on this foundation, he then served as a Fellow in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at SBH Health System from 2017 to 2020, gaining specialized expertise in breast, skin cancer, and reconstructive surgeries.

Most recently, Dr. Long served as a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon Attending at Berkshire Health Systems in Massachusetts, a role he began in 2020. He was the only plastic surgeon employed by the hospital and served as the physician lead for the hospital’s Plastic Surgery and Dermatology practice. He also played an active role in the hospital’s Breast Cancer Leadership Program.

Professional Distinctions

Dr. Long is a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons (ACOS) — a distinction that requires years of commitment to education, teaching, and community involvement. Fellowship candidates undergo a comprehensive review and committee approval process before final acceptance and induction, underscoring Dr. Long’s dedication to excellence and leadership within his field.

Mentorship and Education

In addition to his fellowship, Dr. Long is an active mentor for the American Osteopathic Information Association (AOiA), where he provides guidance and professional development support to osteopathic medical students and early-career physicians.

He has also served as a presenter for the University of Massachusetts 4-H Career Exploration Program, helping young students gain exposure to diverse professional paths, including medicine and surgery.

Dr. Long is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine and continues to engage in teaching and mentorship and contribute to medical research and publications.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Long is an enthusiast of culinary arts and travel. He is an avid golfer, finding relaxation and focus on the greens.
