Job Description:
The role of a Director of Nursing is a vital position within the healthcare industry. The DON is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of nursing operations within a healthcare organization. Their main objective is to ensure that high-quality patient care is delivered by the nursing staff.
The specific job duties of the DON can vary depending on the organization, but some common responsibilities include the development and implementation of nursing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices; Creating and maintaining a positive and collaborative work environment for nursing staff, Collaborating with other organizational leaders and professionals to improve patient outcomes and experiences, Leading Implementing quality improvement programs to enhance patient care delivery.
In addition to these duties, a DON must possess strong leadership and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of healthcare operations and industry trends. They must also stay updated with advancements in nursing practices and technology.
Overall, the Director of Nursing plays a crucial role in ensuring that nursing services are provided efficiently and effectively, ultimately contributing to the overall success of a healthcare organization.
Hours/Location: M-F 9-5 in-office or as needed in Downtown Honolulu.
Minimum Qualifications: RN licensure, BSN required. MSN/DNP or APRN(or equivalent) preferred. Two to four years experience in a high level nursing leadership role required, experience in cosmetic surgery or specialty/ASC nursing leadership preferred
