Ultherapy acts as a non-surgical alternative to a facelift. It is commonly used to treat sagging skin, as well as lines and wrinkles. Ultherapy uses ultrasound technology to stimulate collagen production within the body to leave patients with a more youthful, rejuvenation appearance.

How Does Ultherapy Work?

Collagen is a protein found within the body. It is an essential building block of our skin that helps keep it firm and lifted. As we age, the amount of collagen we produce decreases, leading to sagging and creasing. Using ultrasound energy, Ultherapy is able to target areas beneath the skin to help boost collagen production. The heat energy can target three layers: superficial wrinkles, skin, and muscle to stimulate collagen and elastic tissue.

The Treatment and Recovery

The Ultherapy procedure is simple and non-invasive. Treatment usually lasts between 30 and 90 minutes depending on the size of the area being treated. The treatment areas will be cleaned and prepped for the device. The Ultherapy applicator is then applied, and the settings are adjusted accordingly. During your procedure, you will be comfortable but may experience some tingling or heat sensation.

Once the treatment is over, you can immediately resume your regular activities and even return to work. The treated areas may be red or swollen, but this should subside within a few days. While the timeline of results varies from person to person, many can start to see results within a few days of their procedure. Results should continue for up to three months after your procedure. Depending on the outcome of the treatment, you may wish to have more.

Ultherapy can be used to treat the following areas for creasing and sagging to restore a more youthful appearance.
