What is cellulite?

Cellulite is most common in adolescent and adult women and commonly develops on the thighs, abdomen, and buttocks. Many women believe they can minimize the appearance of cellulite with diet and exercise. They are mistaken. In fact, cellulite is often hereditary and cannot be eliminated with diet and exercise alone. It is not a fat problem, but a structural problem of the skin. Strong fibrous bands anchor the skin to the underlying muscle, causing dimples on the surface.

How does Cellulaze work?

This advanced technology goes beyond traditional treatments, such as creams and ointments, and targets the cause of cellulite, the structural components that pull on the skin and create cellulite’s dimpled appearance. This minimally invasive laser procedure smoothes out the appearance of cellulite in 3 ways:

What are Cellulaze treatments like?

Dr. Ching performs Cellulaze as an outpatient procedure in his accredited on-site surgical facility. Once targeted areas are numbed with local anesthetic, Dr. Ching threads a thin laser fiber into a metal tube called a cannula and then through tiny incisions in the skin. With quick pulses of laser energy, the fibrous bands are released, pockets of fat are melted, and collagen production in the skin is stimulated. Most patients experience little to no discomfort.

What can I expect during recovery after Cellulaze?

Most patients have some bruising, swelling, and drainage in treated areas for the first few days after the procedure. You can expect to return to normal activities within 2 to 3 days and strenuous activities after a week or 2.

Will my cellulite be gone right after treatment?

Patients usually see improvements within a few weeks after the initial swelling has dissipated. Improvements continue for about 3 to 6 months as collagen is replenished in the skin.
